A deeper understanding

This webinar explores innovations in understanding and treating anxiety disorders, focusing on death anxiety and broader existential concerns across presentations such as health anxiety, panic disorder, and OCD. Participants will be introduced to transdiagnostic and existential frameworks (including Terror Management Theory) and practical strategies for assessment, formulation, and integrating this work into CBT and exposure-based treatments.

Reflect and discuss

This is live CPD where you will engage deeply with the content through discussion and role play, and be encouraged to ask questions. You will be learning alongside your peers and sharing your knowledge and experiences to gain a deeper understanding of the topic.

Dr Rachel Menzies

Dr Rachel Menzies is a Lecturer and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, where she completed her Honours, Masters and PhD degrees in psychology. Rachel’s research on death anxiety and its role in mental health has been awarded various prizes, including the Australian Psychological Society (APS) national PhD Prize and APS Early Career Research Award.

Rachel has published five books on the topic of existential issues. In addition to her academic work, Rachel is a clinical psychologist and director of the Menzies Anxiety Centre, which she established to improve access to psychological treatment for death anxiety.
