This training session introduces early-career clinical psychologists to forensic psychology, highlighting key differences from clinical practice and the psychologist's roles in assessment, treatment, and court engagement. Participants will gain practical insights into preparing court reports, providing expert testimony, and effectively handling cross-examination to enhance their professional competence in legal contexts.

Dr Lars Madsen
Forensic and Clinical Psychologist
Lars Madsen is a registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with the National Psychology Board of Australia, in accordance with statutory requirements. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England and a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Queensland. As Director and Principal Psychologist at the Forensic and Clinical Psychology Centre, Dr. Madsen has extensive experience in the forensic domain, encompassing direct assessments, individual and group treatments, training programs, and consultancy services for government agencies, religious institutions, and non-governmental organizations. He has served as an expert witness in the District and Supreme Courts, prepared psychological reports for both criminal and civil proceedings, and contributed to the field through publications in academic journals as well as presentations at international conferences and universities on forensic topics.
