This workshop provides an introduction to navigating Medicare for early-career psychologists. It covers key topics such as the Better Access Initiative, Eating Disorder Plans, and compliance basics. Through real-world scenarios and discussions, participants will learn practical strategies to address common challenges like GP referral misunderstandings and ethical dilemmas, while gaining resources for ongoing learning.

Dr Clair Lawson
Clair Lawson is a clinical psychologist and practice owner with over 17 years of experience in private practice. As the Director of Lawson Clinical Psychology, she leads a team of dedicated clinical psychologists, focusing on delivering excellent client outcomes and fostering a collaborative team culture. Clair has a passion for helping psychologists build confidence in understanding Medicare and navigating the complexities of private practice.
In this PREP Program workshop, Clair will share practical insights into the Australian Health Insurance System, specifically Medicare, to help registrars feel equipped to manage billing, compliance, and client care. Known for her clear and approachable teaching style, Clair aims to make Medicare accessible and relevant for early-career psychologists.
