A deeper understanding

Until the past 5-10 years, medical researchers have excluded females from the vast majority of their studies. Why? Because the hormonal changes that occur throughout and beyond the menstruating years made females 'too difficult' to include. AND it was only very recently, that 'they' realised female hormones impact MORE than fertility. In fact, we now know that female hormones affect EVERY organ and system. This includes our brain which unsurprisingly means they play a significant role in our Mental Health.

Reflect and discuss

This is live CPD where you will engage deeply with the content through discussion and role play, and be encouraged to ask questions. You will be learning alongside your peers and sharing your knowledge and experiences to gain a deeper understanding of the topic.

Kirstin Bouse

Kirstin Bouse is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with nearly 3 decades of experience. Spanning Family Court and Child Protection in the first decade of her career, Kirstin established Perth Psychology Collective 18 years ago. She has a deep interest in supporting women as they navigate transitions and new chapters in their lives, whether professionally or personally. As such, Kirstin has mentored and supervised early career psychologists as they find their feet in their profession. Her clinical focus has been working with women as they navigate pregnancy, motherhood, and the transition through menopause.

When her own perimenopause journey began 7-years ago alongside a late diagnosis of ADHD and burnout (just for extra oomph), Kirstin looked to her GP to address what she was experiencing. This wasn’t particularly helpful and set her on the path to find SOMEONE who could help.

Unfortunately, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Since then, with considerable perseverance Kirstin found many colleagues across health disciplines ‘hiding in the shadows’ who are experienced in, and passionate about, working with women during this significant life stage. She has brought these practitioners together and founded All About Her - The Centre for Menopause.

All About Her The Centre for Menopause is a community of practitioners from a wide range of health-related disciplines dedicated to elevating the voices, wellbeing and lives of those who are navigating the menopausal years. As such, All About Her offers up-to-date information, evidence based health-care services and innovative events and programs to menopausal women. In line with our core purpose of being ‘All About Her’, we offer our practitioner ongoing professional development and training and opportunities for collaboration and innovation
